New ranking race – Limerick, April 24th

The 2nd ranking race of the season is rapidly approaching. This coming Sunday April 24th the race will be held in Limerick at Castleconnel Boat Club thanks to all the great work put in by Simon Grennell. We ask that you support this race by having as many paddlers attend on the day. It is a great opportunity for us to promote the sport of marathon racing and help further develop the sport.

Start and Finish at Castleconnel Boat Club

Race Briefing at 11:30am

Race Start 12pm noon

All entries are being taken on the day so please arrive early

Course: The racecourse is a 6km lapped flatwater course. The start and finish of the race will be at the Castleconnel Boat Club. Paddlers will paddle upstream along the Shannon, turn at the buoy in O’Briensbridge (about 100m before the bridge) and then return Boat Club to complete a lap. The number of laps depends on what division you are in.

Classes

Long course:  3 laps, 18km  – Division 1 & Division 2

Medium course: 2 laps, 12km  K2/T2 ,Division 3, Division 4, Division 5, Division 5 Women, Division 6

Short course: 1 lap, 6km, Division 7 (U15s), Division 7 Women, Canadians             

Novice course: 1km

Seniors – €20     

Juniors/Students/Unwaged – €10            

Doubles – €30   

Family – €45

Half price if this is your one of your first two CMI marathon races

CI/CANI/BCU membership cards must be presented when entering.
