National Championships Schedule & Entry Details

We are 1 week out from our K1/C1 National Marathon Championships & looking forward to a great days racing in a super venue. The race notice below shows all the available classes and a map of the course. There should be a race to suit every paddler.

With so many classes to run we will be sticking to a tight race schedule with races taking place across 2 sessions with multiple staggered starts in each session. Please ensure you allow time to check in to race control to collect numbers.

The portage is approx 50 – 80m, depending if you exit/enter you boat at the start or end of the portage areas. You approach the portage area at a shallow angle, almost parallel to the bank. It is a beach style portage with the river bed getting gradually shallower. Underfoot is some stones by or under the waters edge, depending on the reservoir levels, followed by grass for most of the portage.

Online entry is now open. For non CI members a day licence can be bought for an additional €10 on top of the standard race entry price. On the day race entries will still be taken with a €5 surcharge. Novice race entries are the exception to this surcharge as the race entry is free & is a cashless transaction. We will be using number boards where possible so if you have a number holder please fit it to your boat. We will have some number holders available on the day.

The race will take place at Griffins Garden Centre, Dripsey Channel,P12 PP79 , Dripsey, Cork. Parking is available at the end of the car park. Looking forward to see everyone there. It is approx 30 min from the Jack Lynch Tunnel.
