2020 Nation Marathon Championships Race Notice

We are delighted to announce the 2020 K1/C1 National Marathon Championships will be held on Sat 8th August at Dripsey Channel, Co Cork. This venue has hosted races over the last 2 years and is considered possibly the best in the country for both paddlers & spectators.

There will be races to suit everyone, covering all standards. Along with our usual Senior & age group championship classes we also have some open classes designed to suit paddlers who want to race but don’t fancy doing the longer distances that some of the senior categories cover. Our Open B classes are mid distance and will suit anyone who would traditionally compete in Div or below. Open C is a shorter course for folks newer to racing and would typically paddle Div 6 or below. All boat types are welcome. & there should be a race for everyone. The C1 class is open to all single bladed craft.

Races will be run across 2 sessions with the 1st session starting at approx 11:45. The finalized schedule should be published within a week. Online Entry will also be the preferred method and should open about 10 days before the race. Check back to the CMI website for details
