National K1/C1 Marathon Championships cancelled. Local race to go ahead for paddlers from non affected Counties

Following the latest government COVID 19 announcement of a localised lock down in for counties Kildare, Laois & Offaly we are sadly left with no choice but to cancel the National Marathon Championships which were due to take place in Cork tomorrow. A marathon race will still take place for people not affected by the recently announced travel restriction, at the venue run by the local organisers but it will not hold National Championship status. The exact format & details will follow. The Marathon Committee asks people from restricted counties to not travel to the race in the interest of public safety.
