Calendar changes: Race cancelations, change of locations and rescheduling

So far we have had a great return to racing in 2021 after the severe disruption to the 1^st half of the year due to the COVID pandemic. We have had 5 races to date, including 2 National Championships  & 3 Ranking races. The season has also seen it’s fair share of disruption with the cancelation of the Malahide ranking race & the postponement of the Lower Liffey Ranking race. Unfortunately we have now also lost the Celbridge Paddlers Ranking race which was due to take place on October 2^nd due to the ongoing construction of their new clubhouse. We wish them the best of luck with the new clubhouse & look forward to seeing it when finished & the return of their race in 2022. Kilcullen Canoe Club’s Ballymore Eustace race is also changing from the Liffey to the Barrow due to the condition of the river. Thanks to Athy Rowing & Canoeing for working with Kilcullen to facilitate this.

As a result of all of this we have 3 Ranking races left in the 2021 season with the remainder of the calendar as below:

• 26^th September – KCC/ARC’s Ranking Marathon on the Barrow from Monasterevin to Athy
• 10^th October – The Canoe Centre’s Lower Liffey Ranking Marathon
• 17^th October – KCC’s Robertstown Ranking Marathon
