European Marathon Championship Selection Race

This weekend sees a Ribadesella series double header with the Enniskillen Marathon taking place on Sat 9^th June and the Belturbet Marathon on Sun 10^th. The Enniskillen race is also being used as a selection race for the European Championships being held in Croatia next Month. Congratulations to Barry Watkins and Ronan Foley who have secured selection for both the European championships and the World Championships with their fantastic performances in the Marathon World Cup in Portugal in May. With spots still up for grabs in both Senior and Junior mens K1 the results of the Enniskillen race will determine who takes the remaining seats.  Any Senior men looking to be selected must race Div1 while any Junior men going for selection must race Div2.

Due to the number of eligible athletes applying for selection not exceeding the spaces available, a selection race is not necessary for Junior or Senior Women.
