Egan Wins World Championship Bronze in South Africa


A huge congratulations to Jenny Egan of Salmon Leap Canoe Club who won a World Championships bronze medal in the Womens Senior K1 race in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Jenny stayed well positioned in the lead group throughout the 26.2km race to secure Ireland’s first Senior Marathon Canoeing World Championships medal since Gary Mawer’s silver medal in 1996.

  • Barry Watkins – 19th K1 Men
  • Peter Egan – 24th K1 Men
  • Malcom Banks – 4th Masters 55 – 59 K1, 4th Masters 55-59 K2
