2026 National Team Fundraising for the World Championships

The Irish Canoe Marathon National Team has been incredibly successful over the years. Since 2017 we have won 26 International Canoe Federation (ICF) or European Canoe Association (ECA) medals including 4 World Championship medals & 4 European Championship medals to accompany 18 World Cup medals. Despite the tremendous success, funding continues to be an issue, with no financial support available from governing bodies.

In 2025 Ireland had some fantastic results at the World Championships, including a Gold medal & a 5th place. 2026 sees the ICF World Canoe Marathon Championships take place in Gualeguaychu, Argentina from 22-25 October, presenting a significant financial challenge to get a team there. The World Championships team selection is underway & will be finalised by the end of May. We hope to have a team of approximately 8 people travelling.

We are asking the canoeing community & beyond to contribute what they can to help get our team to World Championships this year. Any money raised will be used towards travel, accommodation & boat hire expenses, with funds being split among the Team members. https://gofund.me/4dddc122a
