New for 2026 – Women’s Division 1

With International Women’s Day falling this weekend, we are delighted to announce the addition of a new Women’s division to the Ribadasella Ranking series. Over the last few years Women’s Div 7 and Div 5 were brought in over the short & middle distance course.  We have seen a good increase in not only the number of Female participants but also a huge jump in the standards of female paddlers, with many starting in Div 7 & progressing through the divisions. In recent years Junior Female athletes have won the Open Div 3 & 4 end of year titles. In 2025, for the first time the number of Female athletes on the National Team was higher than the Male athletes with 3 Junior Women & 2 U23 Women racing at Championships. As a result of this success, we are delighted to introduce a Long course Women’s Div1 for 2026. This Division will race over the same long course used by the traditional Div1 & 2 Open divisions.
